Buddhist prayer beads or malas (Sanskrit: mālā “garland”]) are a traditional tool used to count the number of times a mantra is recited, breaths while meditating, counting prostrations, or the repetitions of a buddha’s name. They are similar to other forms of prayer beads used in various world religions and therefore the term “Buddhist rosary” also appears.
When it breaks, it means a very bad omen is coming, or the Buddha has left you. It’s a warning that whatever you do, you need to stop, you’re heading in a wrong direction. Right here is a scary moment when it breaks, we’re in a dark place.
In my opinion, there is no perfect life. And a lot of time, our beads are going to or it has already been broken. Regardless if it has been broken or not, just remember the core of our life, the beads, it’s never too late to look at the light. It’s never too late to go back home.
